ENQUIRY & FREE SITE CONSULATION
Once you’ve found us and decided to get in touch regarding your oak framed build, we usually discuss the initial project details over the phone and email, focusing on your ideas, budgets, planning, and time frames.
Following this we will arrange a free site visit, where we can meet you in person and see the proposed build site, where we take accurate measurements in order to give us more specific information for the design and planning (if applicable) phase. We’re always happy to welcome prospective clients to our workshop and to view completed projects - sometimes nothing beats seeing them in person.
DESIGN & QUOTE
Following our site visit, we will translate your ideas into a clear design direction - setting out what’s possible, how it can be achieved, and the next steps forward. You’ll receive a tailored design brief alongside a transparent outline of fees, setting out the next steps toward receiving a full set of designs.
Each of our oak frame builds begins with understanding how you want to live, work, or grow. Drawing on our experience and timber framing knowledge, we explore how an oak framed build can be crafted to suit your needs for today, and the future.
Once the brief is defined, we will put together the design pack where you’ll experience the build design through drawings, CAD visuals, and renders, allowing you to fully visualise the building before construction begins.
When the design is signed off, we provide a detailed quotation to deliver your Frontier Oak frame - beautifully made, responsibly sourced, and built to last.
OAK FRAMED CONSTRUCTION BEGINS
Once planning is approved (if applicable) and the initial deposit is paid, our craftsmen and trusted specialist subcontractors will begin constructing your oak framed building - oak framing is a craft rooted in precision and experience, and our team brings deep expertise in traditional timber construction to every project. Build times vary depending on the scale and complexity of the design, but we’ll clearly set expectations from the outset and keep you informed throughout the process.
We manage every aspect of the build, coordinating our in-house team and trusted subcontractors to keep the project running smoothly. By overseeing the process from start to finish, we ensure a straightforward, well-managed experience.
As the build progresses, payments are made in clearly defined stages, as set out in your quotation. This approach gives you full visibility of progress on site while providing financial clarity throughout the project. The final payment is only due once the build is complete and formally handed over.
PLANNING APPLICATION
With extensive experience in obtaining planning for oak framed buildings and extensions, we are here to guide you every step of the way. We offer clear, straightforward advice on planning and building control, and can manage the planning process on your behalf to take the pressure off. While planning typically takes a minimum of eight weeks and can sometimes take longer, we’ll help you understand the timescales from the outset and ensure everything is progressed in good time.
